Abstract

Peanut plants constitute wild plant that known to contain luteolin and is empirically its leaves are used for overcome hypertriglyceridemia. This study aimed to determine the effect of 70% ethanol extract activity peanut leaves (Arachis hypogaea L.) to decrease triglyceride levels in white male wistar rats. This study used 25 male white rats were divided into 5 groups. K + is the positive control group who were given gemfibrozil, K-is the only group given 0.5% CMC suspension. Variations in dose of 70% ethanol extract of peanut leaf: P1 (8.64 mg/200 g dose of BB rats), P2 (17.28 mg/200 g BB rat), P3 (34.56 mg/200 g dose of BB rats) , previously given a high-fat diet (lard and quail eggs). Observations activity ethanolic leaf extract of peanuts to decrease triglyceride levels performed on day zero, all 10, and 24. The results showed 70% ethanol extract can lower triglyceride levels in white male wistar rats and doses are most effective in lowering triglyceride levels was 8.64 mg/200 g dose of BB rats.
