Abstract

Mucoadhesiveisosorbidedinitratebuccal patch on systemic use purposes has developed with variation of carbopol and hydroxypropil methyl cellulose (HPMC) K10M proportion as matrix. Carbopol accelerate drug release andpolimery swell, whereas HPMC obstruct drug release and increase elasticity and form a film layer upon the patch. This work use six formula with variation of carbopol and hydroxypropil methyl cellulose (HPCM) K10M proportion at 50:50 ; 25:75 ; 40:60 ; 60:40 and one control formula. Those formulation tested to get parameter values for the weight uniformity, folding endurance, surface pH, swelling index, content uniformity,and in vitro release with aquabidest medium by using type 2 USP XX11 tool at 370C temperature. Estimation of isosorbidedinitrate concentration determined by using high work chromatography at a wavelength 220nm. The result of weight uniformity for formula 2 more than 5%, folding endurance more than 300 times, surface pH 6, swelling index biggest result is 35,9% at formula 3, drug release follows zero orde kinetic, whereas drug release mechanism at dissolution test follows difution mechanism.
