Abstract
Arthritis is a disease involving the musculoskeletal system. Ciplukan plants (Physallis angulata L.) and red ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) Is a plant that can be used for the treatment of arthritis. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of ethanol extracts antiatritis ciplukan plants and red ginger arthritis in mice tested. Animal experiments complete freund 's adjuvant induced in plantar foot. The first group was given 1 % CMC, the second group was given triamcinolone 0,072 mg/200 g BW, the third group was given a suspension of single plant extracts ciplukan 50 mg/200 g BW, the fourth group was given a single red ginger extract suspension 56 mg/200 g BB, and fifth given combination of plant extracts ciplukan suspension and red ginger rhizome (0,5:0,5). Antiartritis testing done for 7 days, during the tests performed measurements of weight, edema volume, on the 12th day taking blood leukocytes for subsequent examination of animals sacrificed for histopathological test. The data obtained were analyzed by two- way ANOVA (significant p < 0.05). The results showed that the combination of plant extracts and ginger red ciplukan not give increased weight, but gives the percentage reduction in edema volumes were stable, decreased leukocyte count, and improvement of joint histopathology profiles. Based on statistical analysis, the combination group ciplukan plants and red ginger rhizome, a single plant extracts ciplukan and red ginger rhizome extract stump not provide real difference. Thus, the combination of plant ciplukan and red ginger give antiartritis activity comparable single dosage of each of these plants .
