Abstract
Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) isplants that can be used in lowering cholesterol. Chemical content of peanut leaf are saponins, polyphenols and flavonoids. This research aims to know the influence and the most effective doses for the combination of ethanolic extract peanut leaf and simvastatin can give the effect of increased levels of HDL and LDL levels decrease blood serum white rats wistar strain male who was given a high-fat diet. This research uses are 30 white rats wistar male. Rats were divided into 6 groups at random, each group consists of 5 white male rats. First group : negative control, second group : positive control, third group: extract single, fourth group : combination of extract- simvastatin 0,75:0,25 (12,96 mg/ 200 g BB : 0,045 mg/ 200 g BB), ), fifth group:combination of extract- simvastatin 0,5:0,5 (8,64 mg/ 200 g BB: 0,09 mg/ 200 g BB dan sixth group: combination of extract- simvastatin 0,25:0,75 (4,32 mg/ 200 g BB : 0,135 mg/ 200 g BB.All rats measured HDL and LDL cholesterol levels on day 0, the 14th and the 28th with CHODPAP method. The results showed that administering a combination of ethanolic extract peanut leaf (Arachis hypogaea L.) and simvastatin increase levels of HDL and lower LDL levels in the male wistar strain of white rat fed a high fat diet is comparable with simvastatin.
