Abstract
Beluntas plants used by the community for the treatment of various diseases . The purpose of the study to determine the effects of ethanol leaf extract on the inhibition beluntas bilirubin levels and to determine the correlation between the dose of ethanol extract of leaves beluntas with hepatoprotective effects on the inhibition of elevated levels of bilirubin in rats Wistar strain male rats after administration of paracetamol. This study used 30 male white rats were divided into 6 groups that I fed and watered (normal control), group II was given a 1 % CMC solution (negative control) , group 3 was given a suspension curliv-plus® dose of 21.6 mg/200 g BB (positive control), and group III, IV, and V were given ethanol extract of leaves beluntas each with a dose of 270 mg/200 g BW, 540 mg/200 g BW, and 1080 mg/200 g BW, treatments carried out during the 7 days in a row. On the 7th day in group II, III, IV, V, and VI were given paracetamol dose of 2.5 g / kg. Blood sampling is done 2 times that on the day before treatment (T0) and 24 hours after Treatment (T8). The results showed that the ethanol extract of the leaves can inhibit beluntas elevated levels of bilirubin and ethanol leaf extract for 7 days beluntas there is a correlation between the dose of ethanol leaf extract on the inhibition beluntas elevated levels of bilirubin. The higher dose of ethanol extract of leaves beluntas greater inhibitory effect of elevated levels of bilirubin in Wistar strain Male rats after paracetamol induced.
