Abstract

Fungal infection disease one of them causedby Candida albicans. Studyresult of Koech (2013),test result ofantifungal activity of green tea(Camellia sinensis) leaf extractby using in vitro method was showed that tea leaf hadantifungal power to Candida albicans. This study was aimed to determine antifungal activity and determinewhat type of cream that effectively recover Candida albicans infection. Green tea leaf extract was made using infusion method. The extract obtained was dried with spray dryer. Dry extract ofgreen tea leafwas made creamwith 2 base preparation types of A/M and M/A. Anti-candidiasis testing was conducted by infecting New Zealand rabbit back skin with Candida albicans, after 48 hours was given cream of green tea leaf extract with type A/M, M/A and ketoconazole 2% cream as positive control. Observation through clinical symptoms which appear on the rabbit back skin during recovery and count the total of fungal colony from rabbit back skin. The result showed that cream of green tea leaf extract with type M/A had antifungal power which more effective than type A/M and equivalent to positive control Ketomed (ketokonazol2%).
