Abstract
Ginger and Kaempferia galanga are one of traditional medicinal plants. The essential oils content areuseful as antiinflamatory , and gandapura oil (Gaultherin) containing high concentration of salicylate with making the best candidat aspirin as an antiinflamatory. This study was aimed to find out the effect of increased concentration of gandapura oil in the cream combination of ginger extract and kencur exctract on antiinflamatory effect. Ginger extract and kencur extract were extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol solven, antiinflamatory creams were made into 3 formulations by varying the concentration of gandapura oil 10%, 20%, 30%. The obtained creams were tested for its physical stability for one month including homogeneity, adhesiveness, distribution, viscosity and tested pharmacological by mouse. The data were analyzed Kolmogorov Smirnov analysis, followed by two way anova and than SNK test with significance (p 0,05). The result of this study showed that the cream combinations of ginger extract and kencur extract with addition of gandapura oil had the antiinflamatory effects on the edema of plantar feet mouse. The three test creams provide antiinflammatory effect greater than the positive control i.e. hydrocortisone cream, the sequence of which provide the greatest effect were ginger and kencur extract combination cream with the addition of gandapura oil 30%, 20%, 10%, and the last waspositive control (hydrocortisone cream).
