Abstract
Disease that attacks the joints and structures that surround the joints (Arthritis) a disease that affects many women in almost all elderly. Acalypha plant (Acalypha indica L.) and physallis (Physallis angulata L.) is a plant that is used for the treatment of arthritis. This study aimed to determine the antiarthritis effect of the combination of Acalypha plants and physallis in male rats induced Complete Freund’s Adjuvant (CFA), whether the effect of anti arthritis and histopathological profile better than a single dosage of both. Pre-treated, testing animal formerly induced CFA. Treatment was given for 7 days, weight and volume edema feet of rat were weighed every day. The first group was given of acalypha extract, second group was given of physallis extract, third group was given of combination acalypha and physallis extract, fourth group is the positive control group, and the fifth group is the negative control group. Parameters measured were body weight, percentage decrease in edema volume, leukocyte count, and joint histopathology profile. The obtained data were analyzed by two way ANOVA (significance at p<0,05). The results showed that the combination of acalypha and ciplukan provide antiarthritis effect and histopathological profile comparable to that of a single dosage of both. Highest percent reduction edema volume in ciplukan single group. Combination acalypha and physallis extract can increase percentage decrease in edema volume, not giving increasing body weight, have normal leukocyte counts and histopathological profile improvement is better than the single dosage Key word : Acalypha indica L.
