Abstract
Bastard cedar leaves and rosella petals from previous research showed the antihiperlipidemia activity. The purposes of this study were to determine the effect of the combination of ethanol extract of bastard leaves (Guazuma ulmifolia, 1) and Rosella petals (hibiscus sabdarifa, 1) on triglyceride levels in male mice. The animal testing was male mice aged of 2-3 months, weigh of 170-200 grams as many as 35 mice were divided into 7 treatment groups. Group I are a normal group. Group II are hipertrigiseridemia group. Group III are ethanol extract of bastard cedar leaves of 200 mg/200g body weight (1). Group IV are ethanol extract of Roselle petals of 100 mg/200 g body weight (1). Group V are first combination dose of bastard cedar leaves and rosella petals (1:1). Group VI are a second combination dose of bastard cedar leaves and rosella petals (1 : ½). Group VII are third combination of bastard cedar leaves and rosella petals (½ : 1). Treatment is done orally. The results showed that the ethanol extract of bastard cedar leaves (Guazuma ulmifolia, 1) and Rosella flower (Hibiscus sabdarifa, 1) for 14 days (T2) after conditioned hypertriglyceridemia (T1) and normal levels (T0) can reduce levels of serum triglyceride of mice blood. The most effective dose in decrease triglyceride levels is combination dose of ethanol extract of bastard cedar leaves and rosella petals (1:1), can significantly reduce triglyceride levels equal to ± 79.00 mg / dL.
