Abstract

Inflammation is an everyday condition due to tissue respone to damage physical and chemical stimulus. The aim of the study was to find out the antiinflammatory effect of ginger (Zingiber officinale R.) extract and kencur (Kaempferiaa galangal L) extract combination cream with the addition of clove oil. Ginger (Zingiber officinale R.) and kencur (Kaempferiaa galangal L) were extracted by maceration method using ethanol 70% solvent. The cream was made to 3 formula with different concentration of clove oil, i.e. 10%, 20% and 30%. The obtained cream were tested for is physical quality for 1 month including organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity, dispersive power, and adhesion. The data were analyzed by kolmogorov-smirnov analysis, continued eith two-way Anova and then the SNK test. The result of the study was that ginger (Zingiber officinale R.) extract and kencur (Kaempferiaa galangal L) extract with the addition of cloud be made cream product that had the anti-inflammatory effect. Cream with 10%, 20% and 30% concentration of clove oil by the statistic has the same anti-inflammatory effects.
