Abstract

Putri malu and meniran can be used as urine emetic (diuretic). This research aims to know the diuretic effect of combination infusa of putri malu and meniran in albino male rat wistar strain. Animal tests used as many as 35 tail, which are divided into 7 treatment groups those are: furosemide suspension (positive control), 1% PVP suspension (negative control), infusa putri malu 100 mg/200 g WB, infusa meniran 100 mg/200 g WB, combination infusa putri malu and meniran (50 mg : 50 mg) /200 g WB, combination infusa putri malu and meniran (75 mg : 25 mg) /200 g WB, combination infusa putri malu and meniran (25 mg : 75 mg) /200 g WB given orally with volume of 3 ml/200 g WB. Then the urine volume are recorded at 6th, 12th and 24th hour. The diuretic effect can be seen from the data analysis results of AUC 0-6, AUC 6-12, AUC 12-24 and AUC 0-24 obtained from the urine volume each time of observation. Data analysis performed by parametric analysis with one way ANOVA (one way variant analysis) and Tukey HSD with 95% significant level. The research result obtained that combination infusa putri malu and meniran has diuretic effect. Dosage which has the most effective diuretic effect are combination infusa putri malu and meniran (25 mg : 75 mg)/200 g WB. Key words: diuretic, infusa putri malu- meniran, furosemide.
