Abstract

Seligi leaves are medicinal plants that contain flavonoid compounds that have high antioxidant activity and potential as hepatoprotective. This research was conducted to determine the effect of ethyl acetate fraction seligi leaves (Phyllanthus buxifolius Muell, Arg) on the rate of ALT and AST in wistar male rats paracetamol-induced. This study uses thirty rats divided in 6 groups. Group I as a normal group. Group II as a positive controls given Curcuma 3.6 mg/200 g BW. Group III as a negative control. Group IV, V, and VI as the treatment group given test solution ethyl acetate seligi leaves 5 mg/200 g BW, 10 mg/200 g BW and 15 mg/200 g BW for 7 days. All groups except group I paracetamol-induced 500 mg/200 g BW on day 5. All groups on day 0, 5th and 7th set ALT and AST rate. Results obtained were analyzed by One Way ANOVA test. The results showed that ethyl acetate fraction seligi leaves at a dose of 5 mg/200 g BW, 10 mg/200 g BW, and 15 mg/200 g BW can inhibit ALT and AST in wistar male rats paracetamol-induced. Dose of the ethyl acetate fraction seligi leaves was the most effective is 5 mg/200 g BW as comparable to the positive control..
