Abstract
Dexamethasone is a small dose of a drug that is practically insoluble in water. The use of sodium lauryl sulfate can increase the solubility of dexamethasone. Small doses of the drug can also be made with a mixture of techniques interactive as it can ensure the homogeneity and stability and to improve its solubility. Moreover, because the host (carrier) is relatively coarse then have flow properties and compressibility good so tablets can be made by direct printing. Mg stearate as a lubricant which is hydrophobic will regulate the charging of granules into the compression chamber / die with a constant. This study aims to determine the proportion of emergency sodium lauryl sulfate and Mg stearate to obtain the optimum formula that has a good physical quality and rapid dissolution. This study was conducted in accordance with the three formulas Simplex Lattice Design: FI (1% sodium lauril sulfate: 0.5% stearic Mg), F II (0.75% sodium lauril sulfate : 0.75% stearic Mg), and F III (0.5% sodium lauril sulfate : 1% stearic Mg). Tablets are formed testing the physical properties and dissolution then analyzed by statistical tests using one way ANOVA. Determination of the optimum formula using Software Design Expert 8.0.6. The parameters used were hardness, friability, disintegration time, and dissolution of the tablet. The theoretical and experimental results were analyzed statistically optimum formula using t-test. The optimum formula mix of interactive tablets dexamethasone by Simplex Lattice Design obtained proportion of sodium lauril sulfate 0.696% and 0.804% Mg stearate. The results showed no significant difference between the predictions with experiment. The resulting tablets had good physical quality and dissolution in accordance with the fourth edition of the Pharmacopoeia Indonesia.
