Abstract

Soil contamination caused by heavy metals is accumulated in plants and the processed products. It will be harmful to human’s health. The aim of this research was to analyze and investigate the concentration of zink dan lead in soybean tempe, dregs tofu tempe, and surly fried tempe. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry is a technique of qualitative and quantitative analysis of metal elements in small quantities. The principle of atomic absorption spectrophotometry is evaporating metal samples into free atoms, atoms absorb radiation hollow cathode light source, followed by the measurement wavelength. Sample is introduced into the furnace and turned into ashes. After being dissolved ash with HNO3. Sample was transferred in a 50 mL volumetric flask and then added aquabidestilata and diluted to mark boundaries. Samples were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometric method at a wavelength of 213.9 nm for zink and 283.3 nm for lead. Qualitative test results obtained from this study showed that all samples contained zinc and lead. Levels of zinc in samples of soybean tempe 42.66537 ± 1.47387 ppm, tempe gembus 6.27237 ± 0.39547 ppm, and tempe fried surly 66.21450 ± 2.79145 ppm. Lead levels in samples of soybean tempe ppm 0.75256 ± 1.23512, 1.36526 ± 2.14931 gembus tempe ppm, and tempe surly 0.65189 ± 2.29547 ppm.
