Abstract

Overload c onsumption of sodium benzoate can endanger health . This study aimed to determine levels of sodium cyclamate and sodium benzoate in fruit flavored drinks whether in accordance with the established requirements Numb 722/MENKES/Per/IX/88. The study was conducted with the KCKT tools,using a mobile phase of acetonitrile:water 20:80, flow rate 0,7 ml/minute and the wave length 220 nm. Calibration curve of sodium benzoate at 4,16 mg/l, 8,32 mg/l, 20,8 mg/l, 29,12 mg/l, 37,44 mg/l then analyzed the peak area with concentration and the LOD and LOQ. The next exper iment is to set reacquisition test levels of sodium cyclamate and sodium benzoate in the sample. The results of this study, levels of sodium benzoate A, B, C, D dan E in a row 3 53,4191 ± 5,6865 mg/kg, 129,3495 ± 2 , 5692 mg/kg, 2 74 , 3293 ± 3,3622mg/kg, 3 4 , 15 25 ± 2,5567 dan 1 88 , 1148 ± 4,9280 mg/kg. Levels of sodium benzoate A, B, C, D and E meet the regulatory requirements of the R.I.Minister of Health Numb 722/MENKES/Per/IX/88. Keywords: sodium benzoate. KCKT
