Abstract
Allergy asthma is an inflammation disease caused by repetitive hypersensitivity reaction either immediately or slowly. Putrimalu (Mimosa pudicaLinn.) herb has benefit to inflammation reaction of asthma disease. The objective of research is to find out the effect of putrimalu herb extract on the decreased eosinophyl bronchus count. This research employed 25 balb/C mice divided into 5 treatment groups. Group I is given Telfast® as positive control, group II is given CMC 0,5% solution as negative control, groups III, IV and V were given putrimalu herb extract with daily doses of 1,95 mg/20 g BW, 3,9 mg /20 g BW, and 7,8 mg /20 g BW respectively for 27 days. On the day-0 and -14, the tested animal was sensitized using ovalbumin in Al(OH)3 intraperitoneally and on the day-21, 23, 25, and 27, they were sensitized using ovalbumin aerosol in aerosol. On the day-28 the tested animal was sacrificed to take bronchus tissue and to made preparation by staining Haematoxylin Eosin. Data obtained was analyzed using One Way Anova statistic test. The result of research showed that putrimalu herb extract could decrease eosinophyl bronchus count compared with negative control. The most effective dose of putrimalu herb in lowering the count of eosinophyl bronchus was 3.9 mg/20 g BW of mice.
