Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is the one caused by aerobic bacteria from intestine flora. Pseudomonas sp is the microorganism that can result in urethra infection. The objective of research was to find out the sensitivity pattern of ciprofloxacin, amycacin, cefepim and piperasilin tazobaktam antibiotics against the Pseudomonas sp resulted from urine isolation of urethra infection in Surakarta PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in March-April 2013. The urine sample of patients with urethra infection in Surakarta PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital that had been diagnosed was the inoculated in Pesudomonas Selective Agar. Identification was conducted by observing colony, gram staining, and biochemical test. The sensitivity test on ciprofloxacin 5µg, amycacin 30µg, cefepim 30µg and piperasilin tazobaktam 110µg was used to find out the resistance diameter of each antibiotic that was then compared with KirbyBaeur table to find out antibiotic ability in killing Psudomonas sp bacterium and followed by data analysis later. The result of 30 sample patients with UTI in Surakarta PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in from March-April 2013, there was Pseudomonas sp. in 20 patients and there was no Pseudomonas sp in 10 patients. The result of sensitivity test indicated antibiotic sensitivity pattern of 100% for ciprofloxacin, of 100% for amycacin, 100% for cefepim and 100% for piperasilin tazobaktam. Ciprofloxacin had the most optimum antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas sp. __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: UTI, Pseudomonas sp, Antibiotic.
