Abstract
Solanum torvum Swartz (Solanaceae), known as takokak is a medicinal plant which has phagocytic activity. Use of plants takokak with intent to suppress or reduce viral and bacterial intracellular infection, immunodeficiency or as stimulating the growth of cells in the body's immune system defenses. This study aims to determine takokak fruit extract that can increase phagocytic activity or not. This study uses eight groups of white male mice each six mice. Mice were given the test preparation once daily for 7 consecutive days. Group I: negative control 1% CMC-Na. Group II: the positive control dexamethasone 2 mg / kg BW. Group III. Takokak fruit extract 37.5 mg / kg BW. Group IV: takokak fruit extract 75 mg / kg BW. Group V: takokak fruit extract 150 mg / kg BW. Group VI: takokak fruit extract 400 mg / kg BW. Group VII: takokak fruit extract 500 mg / kg BW. Group VIII: takokak fruit extract 600 mg / kg BW. Phagocytic activity test data were analyzed and quantified using one way ANOVA test. The results showed that the fruit extract takokak (Solanum Torvum Swartz) has the effect of increasing the phagocytic activity in Balb / c mice were suspended carbon with carbon dose of 0.1 mg/20g BW mice.
