Abstract
Biduri flower (Calotropis gigantea (L.) Dryan) is an ingredient of traditional medicine that has been used by people for generations. Compounds contained in biduri interest is quinon, phenol, steroids, flavonoids, alkaloids and saponins. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water from biduri flower (Calotropis gigantea (L.) Dryan) against the bacteria Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. Extraction was done by percolation using methanol and followed by fractionation. Fractionation is a way of separating a compound based on polarity, solvent fractionation using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water. The experiments were performed using the method of dilution with a concentration 50.0%, 25.0%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.12%, 1.56%, 0.78%, 0.39%, 0, 19%, 0.09%. The results obtained from this study is the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, water has antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. The Minimum kill concentration of antibacterial activity perkolat metanolik, the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction was 12.5% and the concentration Kill Minimum water fraction was 6,25%. The most active fractions from the third fraction is the fraction of water. The identification analys fraction contained the compound saponin, flavonoids and alkaloids.
