Abstract
Cassava leaves (Manihot utillisima Pohl.) contain flavonoid, micro and macronutrient and antioxidant that suspected it has improve thrombocyte count activity throught stimulation mechanism that can trigger megacaryocyte cell. This research is done for observe whether methanol extract from cassava leaves can enhance the thrombocyte. This research the mices are divided into 7 groups with each of it has 5 mices. Group I, II and III in consecutive is normal control, negatif control is given aspirin suspention with dose 0,208 mg/20 g mice BW to decrease thrombocyte count and positif contol is given extract of guava leaves (Psidium guajava L.) with dose 1,3 mg/20 g mice BW to increase thrombocyte count, whereas group IV, V, VI and VII is the test group with the variance dose in conseccutive is 0,13; 0,26; 0,39; 0,52 mg/20 g mice BW. This research is done in 14 days where in the 1st until 5th is given the aspirin suspention (except the group I), the 7th until 13th day is given the methanol extract of cassava leaves (except group I, II and to the group III is given the extract of guava leaves). Day 0, 6th and 14th, blood samples were taken to quantify the amount of thrombocyte count with counting chamber method using Improved Neubauer hemocytometer. From the research could be concludes that methanol extract of cassava leaves is able to increase the thrombocyte count. A dose which has increased the thrombocyte count most effective that methanol extract of cassava leaves with a dose 0,52 mg/20 g mice BW.
