Abstract
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the respiratory system. Black cumin seeds contain essential oils, saponins and polyphenols are efficacious as an anti-asthmatic. Phaleria leaves efficacious treat wounds, diabetes, allergies and shortness of breath. This study aimed to determine the effect of combination of extracts of black cumin seeds and phaleria leaves against allergic asthma in Balb/c mice with the parameters count the number of eosinophils in the bronchial cells of mice Balb/c. Black cumin seeds and phaleria leaves are macerated with ethanol 96%. Test animals are mice Balb/c males divided by 7 groups and single combination of black cumin seeds and phaleria leaves with a total dose of 50 mg/20 g BW mice. Seven groups were sensitized with ovalbumin in Al(OH)3 day 0 and 14 intraperitoneally. Extract and Profilas® day 1 to day 27. OVA aerosol exposure, day 21, 23, 25, 27. 28th day of bronchial tissue taken preparations made and painted with Haematoxylin Eosin. Observed with light mokroskop to count the number of eosinophil cells. Results obtained in analyzes with Kruskal-Wallis test. Administration of a combination extract of black cumin seed and phaleria leaves had the effect of decreasing the number of parameters antiasma through bronchial eosinophils mice Balb/c. Dose combination of black cumin seed extract 37.5 mg and 12.5 mg/20 g phaleria leaves mice BB was the most effective dose. __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: black cumin seeds, phaleria leaves, asthma allergic, eosinophils
