Abstract

Humans have a complete body's defense system to face the pathogenic organisms attack. Swartz torvum Solanum (Solanaceae), known as takokak have antioxidant activity which is closely related to the immune system. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a major component of serum immunoglobulin which capable to neutralize toxins and viruses. This study was aimed to determine the effect of takokak extract to IgG titers in Balb / c mice induced SDMD and determine the extract dose which affect on IgG titer of Balb / c mice induced SDMD. Mice were divided into 5 groups each six mice randomly. Group I: immunized 1% SDMD by intra peritoneum and takokak extract dose of 4.125 mg/20 g bw orally. Group II: immunized 1% SDMD by intra peritoneum and extract takokak dose of 8.25 mg/20 g bw orally. Group III: immunized 1% SDMD by intra peritoneum and extract takokak dose of 16.5 mg/20 g bw orally. Group IV: positive control immunized 1% SDMD by intra peritoneum and given Stimuno dose of 0.55 mg/20 g bw orally. Group V: negative control immunized 1% SDMD by intraperitonial. Data of Immunostimulant effects of takokak extract to IgG titer induced 1% SDMD were analyzed and quantified using ANOVA analysis. The results showed that the extract takokak was affect immunoglobulin G titer in Balb / c mice induced with SDMD. Takokak fruit extract at dose of 150 mg / bw was the effective dose to the increase in immunoglobulin G titer and influential compound was flavonoid.
