Abstract
Hospital pharmacy service is one of activities in hospital that support quality health services which is provides clear health information so that can increase patient's knowledge and literacy of the disease, and increase the active role of individual in the effort of disease treatment. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of individual and contextual factors in self-confidence of asthma patients. This study was a survey, using non-experimental method with observation approach model by cross-sectional. Sampling technique conducted by purposive sampling which are 100 patients. The data collection method conducted using questionnaires.The data analysis technique using validity test (factor analysis) and and reliability test (reliability analysis) with assistance by SPSS version 19.0 program. In the hypothesis test conducted using Hierarchical Regression Analysis to test the research model. Theresults of research in individual factor (health literacy) showed that the patient was always aware of the recurrence of asthma and prevention as well as routine checks every month. In contextual factor (trust in information source) showed that the patient had high trust in the asthma information given by doctor / nurse / other health personnel. In the hypothesis test using hierarchical regression analysis, obtained the result of individual factor was β = 0.444 with p <0.05, and in the contextual factor was obtained result β = 0.327 with p <0.05. It can be concluded that individual factor and contextual factor had a positive effect on the self-confidence of asthma patients to search of health information needed.
