Abstract

Diabetic mellitus (DM) is a chronical disease that requiring lifetime medication intervention primarily for disease management and prevent further complications. The cost of treatment is a priority of a person to obey a healing treatment to obtain optimal. The aim of this study is to determine the pattern of cost medication, average cost of patient medication, the factors that influence the cost, and determine the real cost compliance with health financing by INA-CBG’s. This was an observational study using study design according to the perspective of the hospital. This was study, the data was collected retrospectively and collected as quantitative data. The samples of this study type 2 diabetic mellitus that hospitalized at the District Hospital of dr. Soebandi Jember in the period of 2012. Data were analyzed using descriptive test to determine patient characteristics, complications, length of stay, description of treatment patterns and average cost. Correlation test used to determine the factors that influence the cost of type 2 diabetic mellitus on patients treatment and one sample t test to find out the real cost of compliance with health care costs under the INA-CBG's. The results of this study concluded that the pattern of treatment mostly used the class of insulyn (50,0%) given alone and the use of sulfonylureas with a biguanide combination (21,6%). The average cost of patients with type 2 diabetic mellitus in patients with or without hypertension and gangrene complications for Jamkesmas patients were not significantly, while the Askes (Rp. 2.650.300) and general patient's (Rp. 3.663.800) significantly difference with p <0,05. Factors that influence significantly to the cost of treatment of type 2 diabetic mellitus was the length of cost of treatment and the health financing types.
