Abstract

Acute gastroenteritis is an inflammation of the stomach and intestines that gives the symptoms of diarrhea with or without vomiting. In Indonesia, diarrhea still at the third rank as a cause of death of children under five year that need to know the appropriate treatment and medical expenses incurred. The purpose of this study aims to determine treatment patterns, the average cost of the patient, the factors that influence the cost and to know the real cost of compliance toward health care financing based on INA-CBGs of Jamkesmas patient. This study was an observational study using cross-sectional design according to the perspective of the hospital. Data was collected by retrospective method and was a quantitative data. The subject of this study was drawn from all in-patients with acute gastroenteritis in RSD dr. Soebandi Jember on 2012. Data was analyzed using descriptive test to determine patient characteristics, treatment patterns and average cost. Test bivariate correlation was used to determine the factors that significantly influence to the cost of treatment of acute gastroenteritis and one sample test was used to find out the real cost of compliance toward health cost based on the INA-CBGs. The results showed that a pattern of acute gastroenteritis treatment of the all in-patients who were given the liquid electrolyte and antibiotics with adjunctive therapy given zinc supplements and probiotics. The average cost of treatment of acute gastroenteritis Rp. 1.005.291,- for Jamkesmas patients was Rp. 1.091.480,- and general patients was Rp. 920.977,-. Factors that influence the cost of treatment were longth of stay (p = 0.000) and age (p = 0.007). The real cost of treatment of Jamkesmas patients was smaller (Rp 1.091.480,-) than that’s of INA-CBGs (Rp 1.305.129,-). Key words : Cost Analysis, acute gastroenteritis, RSD dr. Soebandi, INA-CBGs
