Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristics of hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. DM patients have a hypercoagulable state caused by hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance which can trigger changes in the components that play a role in physiological hemostasis, causing an increase in coagulation activity with decreased fibrinolysis activity. The screening screening standard is Prothombin time (PT) used to test blood clots through extrinsic pathways. Activated Parctial Thromboplastin time (APTT) is a test related to the process of blood clots intrinsic pathway. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in physiology of coagulation in patients with DM tip II controlled and uncontrolled. This study uses an observational analytic research design, with aapproach cross section. Using secondary data, the number of subjects was 50 type II DM patients. This research was conducted from April to June 2019 at the RSDM Clinical Pathology Laboratory Agency in Surakarta. Statistical analysis using the Saphiro-Wilk test for data normality test and advancedtest Mann-Whitney, significant if p <0.05. The results of the study using thetest Man-Whitney PTin controlled and uncontrolled type II DM patients were p = 0.151. The results of the APTT test in controlled and uncontrolled type II DM patients were p = 0.001. So there is a difference between PT and APTT in controlled and uncontrolled type II DM patients. So it was concluded in the next research complete secondary data so that PT and APTT research can be controlled. Keywords: Type II DM, Protombin time (PT), Activated Partial Thromboplastin time (APTT), and HbA1c.
