Abstract

PHARMACY, SETIA BUDI UNIVERSITY, SURAKARTA. Bronchial asthma is a chronic respiratorydisorder which is one of public health problem in the world. This study aimed to determine the pattern of medication usage in bronchial asthmapatients, average of treatment cost, compliance ofreal cost with INA-CBG's and also factors that influence the treatment cost of bronchial asthma. This study was an observational study with cross-sectional research design based on hospital perspective which aims to determinedescriptionand the treatment cost of patients with bronchial asthma in Karanganyar General State Hospital in 2011. The data collection method conducted retrospectively from patient medical records and treatment costs data of bronchial asthmapatients. The data of bronchial asthma patientwhich taken at KaranganyarGeneral State Hospital as 128 patients. Based on inclusion criteria total sample was to 105 patients. The research data was quantitative and qualitative data. Data obtained using means, one sample t-test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov t-test and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Based on the results it could be concluded that treatment which the most widely used were the injection of aminophylline and salbutamol tablet as 80.43%. The average of treatment cost of jamkesmas patients Rp. 761 648, - health insurancepatients Rp. 1,063,649, - and general patients Rp. 1,078,446, -. The factors which affect to the treatment cost of asthma were LOS, severity, comorbidity, and treatment classes. The real cost of bronchial asthma treatment in Karanganyar General State Hospital in 2011 differ with the treatment cost based on INA-CBG's rate that the average of real cost treatment under INA-CBG's rate.
