Abstract

Organophosphate and carbamate pesticides are insecticides that are widely used by farmers in Indonesia. Klaten is one of the districts in Central Java that has advantages in agriculture and cannot be separated from the use of pesticides. The use of organophosphate and carbamate pesticides can endanger the health of serum Butyryllcholinesterase or Cholinesterase. Butyrylcholinesterase is an enzyme produced by the liver and made the parameters of the breakdown of the function of organophosphate and carbamate insecticides. The presence of liver dysfunction is characterized by decreased levels of Butyrylllcholinesterase in the serum. The purpose of this study was to study the participation of Cholinesterase levels in populations exposed and not exposed to pesticides in Karangpakel village, Trucuk sub-district, Klaten regency. This study included observational analytic research using cross-sectional findings. Sample samples of 60 samples consisted of two groups, namely 30 samples of groups exposed to pesticides and 30 samples of groups not exposed to pesticides. The sample examined at Ungaran Regional Health Laboratory, Semarang regency by using the help of Microlab 300 tool. The examination method was enzymatic kinetic. Samples were analyzed using Independent sample t-Test different tests. The results of the study showed a significance of 0.418 (p > 0.05). From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between populations exposed to pesticides and populations not exposed to pesticides.
