Abstract

Information and communication technology has dramatically changed personal, business and economic life. The development of sophisticated mobile technology makes cellphones an inseparable item from life. The constant use of mobile phones in various locations, such as in hospitals by patients, visitors, and hospital employees, makes cellphones a health threat because they are rarely cleaned. bacteria on mobile phones are Pseudomonas aroginosa and Streptococcus sp which can be inhibited growth with eucalyptus oil. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the number of germs before and after the administration of eucalyptus oil on the cellphone screen of employees at the Rumah Sakit Jiwa Daerah Surakarta This study uses a type of experimental research with the design of one group pretest-posttes design. The sample in this study amounted to 30 employees. Data is collected directly, the number of germs is examined by the Surface Count Method method. The results of the study of 30 respondents showed 21 numbers of germs on the cellphone screen decreased and 9 there were no differences and based on statistical analysis there were differences in the number of germs on the cellphone screen.
