Abstract

Typhoid fever is one of the bacterial infections that are found in developing countries such as Indonesia and is an endemic disease which is often found in children and require regular treatment so as to avoid the occurrence of resistance or death in patients. The cost of treatment is a priority of a person to obey a healing treatment to obtain optimal. The purposes this research are to determine treatment patterns of typhoid fever, the average cost of treatment, the factors that affect the total cost and the compliance of real packet costs of INACBGs patient. This study was retrospectively research with analytic observasional research on Karanganyar General hospital perspective. The data was collected conducted retrospectively from patient medical records and treatment costs data of child typhoid fever patients. The subjects of this research were patients hospitalized child suffering from typhoid fever without comorbide. The data was analyzed descriptively to determine the characteristics of patients and the average cost of treatment, bivariate correlation test to determine the factors that affect the cost of treatment of child typhoid fever and one sample t-test to determine the compliance of total cost based on INA-CBGs. The results of this research showed that age 6 until 10 years old of male suffered more typhoid fever. Most medicine was used in treatment of typhoid fever are cefotaksim and cefixim (16,67%), paracetamol (100%), Ringer's lactate, KAEN 3A (62.75%). Significant correlation with the total cost was a length of stay hospitalization. The real cost average of typhoid fever of jamkesmas patients Rp. 694,172.78, jamkesda patients Rp.796,022.50 and general patients Rp. 852,199.00. The research results showed that the average real treatment cost of child typhoid fever is lower than INA-CBGs package cost (p=0,000).
