Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal, the blood pressure higher than 140 mmHg systolic or 90 mmHg diastolic. Hypertension can cause a variety of complications, such as heart failure, kidney failure, brain damage, eye and peripheral vascular damage. This study aimed to determine the pattern of drug use in patients with hypertension, the average cost of treatment, the real cost of compliance with the INA-CBG's and also the factors that influence the treatment cost of hypertension. This study was an observational study with cross-sectional study design according to the perspective of the hospital. Method of data collection was done in retrospective and data derived from qualitative and quantitative data. Subjects were inpatients suffering from hypertension without comorbidities/ stage II hypertension and hypertension with comorbid stroke, heart failure, kidney failure, and diabetes mellitus. Data were analyzed descriptively to determine the characteristics of patients and the average cost of treatment. Bivariate correlation test to determine the factors that significantly affect the cost of treatment of hypertension and test one sample t-test to determine the total cost of compliance with health costs based on INA-CBGs. Based on the results of the study it could be concluded that treatment which the most widely used were amlodipine tablet as 33,6%. The average of treatment cost of jamkesmas patients Rp. 856 514, - and general patient Rp. 625 412, -. The factors which affect to the treatment cost of hypertension were LOS and severity. The average total cost of hypertension stage II, hypertension + stroke, hypertension + DM is Rp. 938,007,- and the average total cost + hypertensive heart disease, hypertension, renal failure + is Rp. 990 567,-. The real cost of hypertension treatment in hospitals Sorong in 2012 was lower than rate which defined by INA-CBGs. Keywords: Hypertension, Cost Analysis, INA-CBG's of Sorong Hospital
