Abstract

Uric acid is the final product of purine metabolism. The examination of uric acid can be done by using serum, delayed serum and EDTA plasma. The purpose` of this research is to find out the level difference of uric acid in fresh serum, delayed serum and EDTA plasma. This research is observational analytic of 30 persons as the samples. The research was conducted at Sibela Public Health Center in May 2019. This research used TBHBA (2,4,6 – tri bromo – hydroxyl benzoid acid) method. The data were analyzed using One Way Anova and Paired Sample test with the p value of p <0.05 (meaningful). The test result of One Way Anova for the level difference of uric acid in fresh serum, 24-hours delayed serum and EDTA plasma, obtained the p value = 0.943 (>0.05) while the Paired Sample t test obtained ratio of fresh serum and serum delayed 24 hours p value was 0.560, the ratio of fresh serum level and EDTA plasma p value was 0.684, while the ratio of uric acid level in the 24-hours delayed serum and EDTA plasma p value was p 0.933, those three samples had the p value of >0.05. Based on the result analysis, it can be concluded that there is no difference of uric acid level in fresh serum, 24 hours delayed serum and EDTA plasma.
