Abstract

Ovarian cancer is the growth of cancer cells in one or two parts of the ovaries. Ovarian cancer ranks fifth as a cause of death for women around the world. This study aims to determine the risk factors for ovarian cancer sufferers in Dr. Moewardi Surakarta This research uses descriptive research with cross sectional design, 118 samples taken by purposive sampling in the form of primary data. The population in this study was ovarian cancer patients diagnosed at RSUD dr. Moewardi, the sample in this study was ovarian cancer patients diagnosed at RSUD dr. Moewardi who met the research criteria. The results obtained showed that of 118 ovarian cancer sufferers, the highest frequency aged ≥40 years was 99 (83.90%). There were 96 people (81.36%) had a family history of cancer. 86 people (72.88%) had their first menstruation at age <12 years. There were 94 people (79.66%) had a parity number <2. The conclusion of this research is the most risk factors for ovarian cancer at age ≥40 years, the highest frequency of patients who have a family history of ovarian cancer and breast cancer, most ovarian cancer patients have menarche age <12 years, most ovarian cancer patients have the number of parity <2.
