Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTb). Anti-tuberculosis drugs (OAT) have various side effects and can cause hematological abnormalities in both hematopoesis cells and plasma components. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of hematological parameters of TB patients before and after the treatment period in RSDM. This type of research is observational analytic using a cross sectional approach with a comparative design that compares variables that influence changes that occur in the results of the study. Paired sample t-test results obtained erythrocyte values p = 0.001 (<0.05), hemoglobin p = 0.001 (<0.05), hematocrit p = 0.001 (<0.05) before and after the treatment period which means there are differences which is statistically significant while for leukocyte examination p = 0.133 (> 0.05) and platelet value p = 0.302 (> 0.05) before and after the treatment period there were no statistically significant differences. Conclusion: of the analysis results are significant differences in the examination of hemoglobin, hematocrit and erythrocyte levels, whereas leukocytes and platelets have no significant differences.
