Abstract
Banana Ambon Peel (Musa acuminata) and Kepok Banana Peel (Musa balbisiana) are waste materials containing flavonoids, tannins and saponins. This study aims to determine the effect of giving extracts and peel powder of Ambon banana and kepok bananas in reducing the levels of copper and lead in artificial liquid waste. This study used artificial liquid waste with the addition of extracts and peel powder of Ambon and Kepok bananas concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. Copper and lead levels were determined using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers. The results of the study of copper and lead levels before treatment were 116.55 ppm and 9.42 ppm. The most optimum decrease in copper and lead levels in artificial liquid waste was addiction of kepok banana peel powder with a variation of 2% consentration. Keywords: Ambon banana peel, kepok banana peel extract, copper, lead, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers
