Abstract

Career adaptability is a process of self regulation between individuals and the process in managing problems that could not be predicted. It showed individuals in the process of overcoming career development tasks, work transition and readiness in completing tasks, able to control unexpected situations that occur due to changes in work in the process of changing social integrity. One the factors that influence career adaptability was adversity quotient. This research aims to determine how much the influence of adversity quotient on the career adaptability of Surakarta Prodia Clinical Laboratory staff. Respondens in this research were 60 staff of Surakarta Prodia Clinical Laboratory. Data collection used is the questionnaire method. This research used a total sampling method. Data analysis used in this research was the hypotesis testing simple linear regression and test the coefficient of determination (R2) with the SPSS 21 version for windows program. The research result showed that adversity quotient has a positive effect on employee career adaptability with score 0,000 < 0,05. The research result showed that coefficient of determination (R2)49,2% or showed that career adaptability variety 49,2% explaned by adversity quotient, while 50,8% career adaptability explaned by other factors.
