Abstract
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic disease that requires high medical costs. The purpose of this study were to determine the average cost of therapy in COPD patients, to observe the therapeutic outcomes of COPD patients and to ascertain whether the type of therapy had an effect on cost of therapy and therapeutic outcome for COPD patients in Pandan Arang Boyolali Hospital. This study was an observational study with a cross sectional design. Data obtained by accidental and retrospective method. Subject of this study were 87 COPD patients who visited Boyolali Pandan Arang Hospital. Data included were type of therapy, cost of therapy and therapeutic outcome, analyzed using Spearmen rank tests. The results showed that COPD outpatient cost of therapy in Pandan Arang Boyolali Hospital was Rp.781.574 per patient with highest component cost in COPD outpatient the drug cost was 89.5%. Therapeutic outcome for COPD outpatient in Pandan Arang Boyolali Hospital was seen from CAT scores mild 34.5%, moderate 49.4%, severe 10.5% and very severe 5.7%, where LABA + LAMA + ICS therapy has an average CAT score of 12. The type of treatment therapy for COPD patients has an effect on cost of therapy (p= 0,000 and r= 0,425) and therapeutic outcomes (p= 0,030 and r= 0,233).
