Abstract
Sectio caesarea is a process of delivering of fetus through the abdominal wall and uterine wall incision. Sectio caesarea may lead to the occurance of surgical site infection risk. Incidence of infections can be prevented by using antibiotics appropriately. Indonesian Ministry of Health recommends a qualitative evaluation of antibiotics in hospitals with the Gyssens method. The purpose of this research is to assess qualitative use of prophylactic antibiotics with the Gyssens method and it analysis of surgical site infection in Sectio caesarea patients in Gambiran Hospital Kediri 2018. The research was on analytical observation that uses a cross sectional design. Data collection method was retrospectively during January-December 2018. Sampling techniques are purposive sampled with regard to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Statistical analysis of correlation between prophylactic antibiotics based on timing of the incidence of surgical site infections and correlation between prophylactic antibiotics based on generic/patent type of surgical site infections using Chi Square test. The results of qualitative evaluation showed that prophylactic antibiotics including IV c category (81,6%), I category (11,6%) and VI category (6,8%). Correlation between prophylactic antibiotics based on timing of the incidence of surgical site infections shows that p value = 0.000 which means there is a meaningful relations. Correlation between prophylactic antibiotics based on generic/patent type of surgical site infections shows that p value = 0.5 which means there is no meaningful relations.
