Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection in Indonesia prevalence is still high, the sufferers in Indonesia is 90-100 cases per 100.000 population about 180.000 new cases per year. The use of antibiotic is the main choice for UTI treatment, antibiotic selection must be based on the right indications. This study aims to determine suitability of antibiotic use in UTI patients in Ambarawa Hospital. The type of this research is observational with descriptive design and data collection using purposive sampling techniq. The sample used in this study was UTI inpatients who used antibiotic in Ambarawa Hospital which were recorded in medical records during 2017 in accordance with inclusion criteria. The results of this study showed that there are many of UTI sufferers in Ambarawa Hospital during 2017 was seen from the sex of the most women with percentage of 55.93%, from the most age group 21-40 years with percentage of 42.37%, from the most type upper UTI with percentage of 61.02%, from the length of stay most 3-4 days with percentage of 77.97%. The most used antibiotic is Cefriaxon 43 patients with percentage of 62.32%, the suitability of antibiotic 100% right indication, 95.65% right drug, 100% right patient, 84.06% right dose.
