Abstract
The leaves of the cashew Anacardium occidentale [L] contains flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, phenols, and triterpenoid. Nutritious as antiradang, laxative, dysentery, diabetes, and toothache. This research aims to test the antifungal activity of ethanol extracts, the fraction of n-Heksan, the fraction of ethyl acetate and fractions of the water leaves the cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) against Candida albicans ATCC 10321, knowing among the three factions that resulted antifungal activity was more active and knowing the value of KHM and KBM from the faction most active extract of leaves of the cashew Anacardium occidentale [L]. Cashew leaf extract is obtained by the process of maceration using ethanol 70%. Determination of the effective fraction of n-Heksan, ethyl acetate fraction, the fraction of leaf water and cashew nuts in diffusion and dilution. The diffusion method with a concentration of 50%, 25%, 12.5% and positive control ketokonazol. Serial dilution method using a dilution of 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.13%, 1.57%, 0.79%, 0.40%, and 0.20%. Analysis of data obtained from antifungal activity test results with statistically tested diffusion method using Oneway ANOVA showed significant differences in concentrations of antifungal activity of inhibiting Candida albicans ATCC 10321. The results of this study showed that the extract, the fraction of n-Heksan and ethyl acetate fraction, the fraction of water from the leaves of cashew nuts have antifungal activity against Candida albicans. The fraction of ethyl acetate, has the best antifungal activities compared to the fraction of n-Heksan, the fraction of water and ethanol extracts of leaves of cashew nuts. KBM fraction of ethyl acetate from ethanol leaf extracts of cashew nuts which can kill Candida albicans is the concentration of 3,13%.
