Abstract
Sepsis is a clinical condition caused by the body's systemic response to infection, which can cause complications to the death of 13 million people worldwide with sepsis and as many as 4 million people die each year. The number of treatments needed causes the risk of drug interaction events that can affect the success of therapy. The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of septic patients to know the pattern of antibiotic use and to know the characteristics of antibiotic interactions in septic patients at Dr. Inpatient Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2017. This research is a non-experimental research with analytic desktiptif approach. Retrospective collection and collection of medical record data. This study aims to describe the use of drugs in septic patients and to know the description of the possibility of antibiotic interactions in septic patients. The results showed that there were 17.5% (10 patients) of 57 septic patients who had the potential to experience antibiotic interactions. The highest number of patients in men was 56.1% (32 patients) susceptible to age 55-65 years as many as 38.6% (22 patients) 3-5 days of inpatient treatment as much as 64.9% (37 patients) and comorbidities of Pneumonia as much as 30.3% (10 patient). Ceftriaxone single antibiotics (50.9%) and Ceftriaxone and Levofloxacin combination antibiotics were 19.29% (11 patients).
