Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia. The purpose of this study was to determine the antihyperglycemic activity, effective dose, and regeneration of pancreatic cells ethanol extract of senggani leaves. This study used six groups of rats normal control group, diabetes group (CMC-Na 0.5%), positive group (Glibenclamide), ethanol extract of senggani leaf dose of 126 mg / KgBB, 252 mg / KgBB, and 504 mg / KgBB rat. Test material was asministered orally for 14 days. Parameters in this study were increased rat body weight, decreased blood glucose levels, and repair of rat pancreatic cells with Hematoxylin-Eosin staining. The results showed that senggani ethanol extract had the ability to increase body weight equivalent to a positive group (Glibenclamide), to decrease blood glucose levels and repair pancreatic cell histopathology seen based on damage scoring the optimum dose was 252 mg / KgBB rat.
