Abstract

Bronchopneumonia commonly suffered by complications of other diseases so it is given the same treatment that can increase the risk of drug interactions. Drug interactions that occur can be beneficial and harmful because it can lead to death. This study aims to describe the use of antibiotics and determine the likelihood of occurrence of drug interactions in patients with bronchopneumonia. This study was descriptive with retrospective data collected. The inclusion criteria of the sample were all bronchopneumonia patient hospitalized more than 3 days and is done by sampling technique is purposie sampling in Inpatient Installation of RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten in 2017-2018. The results evidence that mostly used antibiotic in the treatment of bronchopneumonia at Inpatient Installation of RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten in 2017-2018 is a single antibiotic, Ampicillin given 22 times with a percentage of 37,93%. The incidence of drug interaction events occurred 12 drug interactions with the mecanism interaction was pharmacodynamic phase with 62,50% and mostly severity of the interaction was on moderate level phase with 75%.
