Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder caused by a disruption of insulin secretion, insulin action or both. The duration of treatment for diabetes mellitus and the high cost of treatment will affect the costs incurred so that a cost analysis is needed, namely CEA. CEA is an analytical technique that is used to compare costs and outcomes of two or more health interventions. The course of this study was observational using the Croos Sectional method using secondary data for the period of 2017 concerning the care of type 2 diabetes mellitus hospitalized in RSUD dr. Soediran Mangun Sumarso Wonogiri. Taken retrospectively by looking at medical record data that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The total costs calculated are oral antidiabetic fees, other drug costs, facilities and medical expenses, diagnostic fees, and examination fees. The effectiveness of therapy seen from GDS patients improves. The effectiveness of treatment is analyzed using ACER (Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio). The statistical analysis used is the independent t-test. The results of this study showed 64 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria, with an average yield of metformin total costs of Rp. 1,943,983 and glimepirid Rp. 3,117,115. With the percentage value of metformin effectiveness 94.12% while glimepirid 86.67%. ACER value of glimepirid treatment Rp. 37,166,031 while metformin Rp. 20,654,303. Based on ACER values, the cost of treatment is cost effective, namely metformin. Keywords: diabetes mellitus, glimepirid, metformin, CEA
