Abstract
Sepsis is defined as a systemic inflammatory response to infection. In general, sepsis is the host's inflammatory response to microbial invasion (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites or toxic microorganism products). Sepsis has a high mortality rate because more than one dysfunction of organ causes the patient to get several medications resulting in drug interaction. This study aims to determine the profile of drug use, the severity of drug interactions and the mechanism. This research is descriptive with retrospective data collection. The inclusion criteria in this study were sepsis patients aged >12 years who were diagnosed with sepsis with or without complications who were treated at the RSUD dr. Soediran Mangun Sumarso Wonogiri in 2016-2018. The results showed that the drug interactions found in 33 patients were 55 events (83.33%) with 36 occurrences of interactions involving sepsis (65.45%). The most common interactions are interactions between norages with methylprednisolone in 6 events (25%), the severity of interactions mostly occurs at moderate level with 9 events, and the most common interaction mechanism is pharmacodynamic interactions of 6 interaction events Keywords: Sepsis, Drug Interactions, RSUD Wonogiri
