Abstract

Leaves the volatile oil having component parts compound linalool is derivative terpenoid who have an effect and orange perut antibacterial volatile oil having compound sereh wangi which could deny growth various bacteria type.Research aims to understand leaves the volatile oil, leaves orange perut and a combination of both have antibacterial activity against bacteria escherichia coli atcc 25922. The method used in this study was diffusion method using the concentration of 2% and 4% with a combination of 1: 1, 1: 2, 2: 1. The data obtained from the research was then processed by using statistical analysis of varians (ANOVA) with two-way method, finally, it could be obtained significant results from the data. After collecting and calculating the data with diffusion method, the Researcher found the biggest inhibitory power from the combination at a concentration of 4% that was a combination of 1:2 with a resistor diameter of 15,5 ± 2,875. Whereas a single yield at 4% concentration of basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum) 13,25 ±1,541104 and leaves orange purut (Citrus hystrix D.C) 18,58 ± 2,418103. Based on the result, the combination of essential oil of basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum) and leaves orange purut (Citrus hystrix D.C) have activity as antibacterial against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922.
