Abstract

Stroke treatment with more than one drug may affect patient’s quality of life and trigger the emergence of Drug Related Problems (DRPs). DRPs happened may result in reduced patient’s quality of life and boost its patient expenditure for medical treatment lead to optimal treatment not achieved. The purpose of this study were determine the profile of stroke inpatient drug use and identify DRPs. DRPs category included in this study were without indications, untreated indications, dose selection inaccuracy and drug interactions. This study was descriptive non experimental with retrospective medical record data collected. Sample number were 75 patients. Analysis of the incidence of DRPs was done by comparing the drug use on stroke inpatient at Air Force Hospital Dr. Efram Harsana Lanud Iswahjudi Magetan in 2018 with the guideline used (Dipiro & PERDOSSI). The results of this study were drug related problems on category drugs without indication (0 %), untreated indication 3 patients (7,1 %), dose selection inaccuracy covering over dose (0 %), under dose (0 %) and drug interactions as many as 39 patients (92,9 %).
