Abstract
Management of pediatric pneumonia in hospitals is one of them is using antibiotics. The problem that arises in the high mortality rate of pneumonia is the more widespread resistance from antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of antibiotic use of patients with pediatric pneumonia at the Inpatient Installation of Wonogiri District Healthy Charity Hospital in 2017 with appropriate indicators of medication, precise indications, right dosage and patients based on the 2017 guidelines for Pneumonia management according to IDAI. This research is non-experimental descriptive, restrospective data retrieval from medical records of Pediatric Pneumonia patients hospitalized in Wonogiri District Healthy Amal Hospital in 2017. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and then processed, to find out the use of antibiotics which included antibiotics, antibiotic names, combination of antibiotics, dose, frequency of administration, and how is the suitability of antibiotics with the management of pneumonia according to IDAI in 2017. The results showed that antibiotic use in pediatric pneumonia patients based on IDAI guidelines 2017, which included right indication (100%) rigth patient (100%) and right drug (67.27%) while that irrational were right dose (5.45%). Based on the MoH guidelines 2015, that included right indication (100%) right patient (100%) and right drug (69.09%) while irrational were right dose (3.64%).
