Abstract

Acute gastroenteritis is defined as inflammation of the stomach in the small intestine. This study aims to determine the profile of antibiotic use in patients with acute gastronteritis in RSUD dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen in 2018 and the suitability of the profile of antibiotic use of acute gastroenteritis with the hospital formulary. This research was carried out in RSUD dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen. This study uses a non-experimental discrete method and retrospective data collection. The research was conducted by processing secondary data from medical record data at RSUD dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen in 2018. The results showed that the most use of antibiotics in patients with children with acute gastroenteritis was cefotaxime third generation cephalosporin group. Profile of antibiotic use in patients with acute gastroenteritis in the inpatient installation of RSUD dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen is in accordance with the hospital formulary.
