Abstract
facial foam is one of the most used product for cleaning the face by the people of Indonesia, one of which is as antiacne. This study aims to determine the activity of the product facial foam antiacne against bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228. The study begins with the identification of test bacteria macroscopic, microscopic and biochemical tests. Facial foam which is used to test the antibacterial aktivias with diffusion method is the brand "X" (Salicylic acid), "Y" (Lauric acid) and "Z" (Lauric acid and Isopropil metylphenol) with the concentration of each-each facial foam used was 12.5%, 25% and 50%. Control (+) used are Clindamycin and control (-) distilled water. Standardized test bacteria MC Farland 0.5 then wipe the disc media and placed MHA disk containing the solution facial foam, incubation at 370C for 24 hours. The results showed that some prodak facial foam brand "X", "Y" and "Z" have antibacterial activity against bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228. The antibacterial activity is facial foam brand "Z" at a concentration of 50% with an average yield 16.67 Average inhibition zone.
